HOW DO I PAINLESSLY REMOVE A PLASTER?

To painlessly remove a plaster, we recommend that you carefully remove it under warm water without pulling or tearing. You can also reduce the pressure and slow the removal by pressing on the plaster with your finger or hand as you remove it. Did you know that URGO also offers plasters that can be removed painlessly?
Please note, hydrocolloid plasters should not be removed, except in cases where a suspected skin reaction has taken place (allergy to the plaster).

HOW DO I REMOVE GLUE RESIDUE REMAINING AROUND THE WOUND?

You can use rubbing alcohol to remove glue residue. Put several drops onto a swab and gently remove any glue residue, taking care not to apply any alcohol to the wound.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I AM ALLERGIC TO A PLASTER OR DRESSING?

If you suspect that you have an allergy to a plaster or dressing (itching, irritation, etc.), remove the dressing or plaster immediately. You can then place a compress onto the wound and hold it in place using a gauze wrap. Consult a doctor to determine the most appropriate treatment.
Please also inform us of the incident so that we can understand the conditions that led to the allergic reaction.

DO ALL WOUNDS NEED TO BE DISINFECTED?

To prevent infection, it is important that all wounds are cleaned, disinfected, rinsed and dried. Please see the “Advice” section to find out more about how to disinfect wounds.
If you suspect an infection, consult a doctor to determine the most appropriate treatment.

HOW DO I TREAT A BURN?

The first reaction to a burn should be to cool the burn with cold water. The sooner this is done, the more effective it is: this essential step reduces the local heat, and avoids the spread of the inflammation. To ensure this is carried out correctly, the “three fifteens” should be followed, namely, rinsing the burn:
– at 15 °C
– at 15 centimetres from the burn
– for around 15 minutes

HOW LONG SHOULD I WEAR URGO HEAT PATCHES?

You can wear URGO heat patches for up to 8 hours, and for up to 10 hours maximum for the heat patch for muscle pain worn over clothes.

CAN I WEAR URGO HEAT PATCHES OVERNIGHT?

No, you cannot wear URGO heat patches whilst you sleep. The patches must be worn during the day when your heat perception is not reduced and when you can ensure that the heat given out by the patches is comfortable.

WHAT PAINS CAN BE TREATED USING URGO HEAT PATCHES?

Aches, torticollis, lumbago and joint pains can all be treated with URGO heat patches.

IS APPLYING URGO FILMOGEL® FOR CRACKED SKIN PAINFUL?

Applying the URGO Filmogel® for cracked skin can cause a prickling sensation for several seconds after application. However, once the film dried, any sensation of pain felt on application immediately disappears.

HOW LONG DO I NEED TO USE URGO FOR CRACKED SKIN?

You can use URGO Filmogel® for cracked skin until the affected areas are completely healed. You can then use URGO crack prevention cream to help prevent the appearance of any new cracks.
